After covid, a lot of schools changed their policy and have switched to being a test optional institution (meaning you do not have to submit your scores). However, if your test scores are above average, I would submit them, so that you can stand out! 

Your essay can be about anything! Just make sure it is niche to you and your story. Do not try to write or align youe essay with anyone elses, and be unique. 

Preferably not your parents, but rather a guidance counselor or teacher who can attest to your skills and qualities as an individual. 

There is no right amount of colleges to apply to, however, make sure you are giving yourself the most opportunities possible. Always have more than one back up plan.  

Deferred just means that the institution has decided to put off your application for further review. You will then receive a final decision within the coming months. Rejected means you will not be granted admission into the university. 

It is not about how many extracirriculars you do but rather the value that they hold. Make sure the extracirriculars you have chosen to do are those of passion and not just a resume holder! 

Applying early action eases the stress of having to worry about submissions. You will have gotten your applications out of the way, therefore all you have to do is wait! With early action, you will also receive your decision earlier than regular decision. 

 Although not required, it is highly recommended to see what your next four years would potentially look like. You might fall in love with it online, but to ensure you really like it, go visit!
